The Brazilian PTO and the Japanese PTO establish phase II of PPH Pilot Project

The Brazilian Patent Office (INPI) and the Japanese Patent Office (JPO) established Phase II of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) project between Brazil and Japan on January 16, in Tokyo.

Phase II of said PPH extends the technical fields involved and will last for two years, starting April 1st, 2019, or until each of the institutes has accepted 200 patent applications. Pharmaceutical patent applications and divisional patent applications will not be accepted under the PPH.
